County Court Judgment – Know More About It
If you have a County Court Judgement or CCJ issued against you, it may have serious implications on your credit rating. It signifies that you may have had serious problems paying back a loan or other form of credit, to the extent where your creditor has had to take court action against you to try and recover the debt.
CCJ’s are generally considered when all other options fail. If you have too many arrears and fail to come to a repayment agreement, your creditor may decide that pursuing a CCJ may be the only option.
However, if you were not aware of the debt, for instance if you have moved out of house and lost contact with the creditor, then you can repay the full debt now. This will immediately stop proceedings going any further. You can also seek online CCJ information. You need not pay any fees for the service.
You just need to fill up and online form and furnish the details of your income and expenses. The court will take into account when hearing your case. If you wish to go against the case, you can apply to have the hearing delayed by 14 days. You can prepare your defence in the meanwhile.
